SD Racing Ready for Queensland - 22-6-07

After 3months on the sidelines SD Racing will make a return to Australia 's premier motorcycle road racing scene with Darren Sciberras taking part in rounds 6 & 7 of the GYTR Australian Superstock Cup. Saturday 30 th June and Sunday 1 st of July will see action packed racing in no less than 7 classes, including the premier Superbike and Supersport categories, as rounds 6 & 7 take place at what will hopefully be a Sunny Queensland Raceway.

Darren has made a great recovery and is back to nearly 100% fitness thanks to an Electroregnisis Jai machine and the work by Suzuki Racesafe regular, Mark Backway of the North Melbourne Physiotherapy Clinic. Not that we could really claim he was ever 100% fit in the first place. The dust and cobwebs have been blown off the number 91 Megacycle R6 and it will be loaded into the all new TMPerformance.com.au race transporter this coming weekend for the long haul up to Queensland.

We had originally planed to stay up in Queensland for an extra week so that SD Racing's Lisa Brothers could take part in round 3 of the MRRDA Formula 400 Tri State series the weekend following, however due to work commitments this part of our trip has been cancelled.

Darren Sciberras: "I must say that I am pretty excited about returning to racing and also to get out of this freezing Melbourne weather! I have had the chance to ride the bike a couple of times now, although it's fair to say I didn't really set the world on fire with my lap times. Still I am feeling pretty good and hope to be back up to speed or even faster than before in no time. Judging by the few times I have ridden since the accident I don't expect my injuries to give me any problems at all so it's only my lack of ability I need to contend with. The only downside is that we have had to cancel the second part of our trip and Lisa doesn't get to race the following weekend, but I guess as long as I am still racing, who cares?"

Lisa Brothers : "It's disappointing that I won't be able to race but I have missed a lot of racing this year because of Daz so I am sort of use to it, he can be a bit selfish like that. Although we have to come back for work hopefully we can still squeeze a dirt bike ride in somewhere so I can kick his butt out in the bush, that should make me feel better."
