Round 4 of the 2007 Victorian Interclub series on Sunday 23 rd September saw SD Racing return to the podium after a long drought. Even more pleasing was the fact that both of the team's riders, Lisa Brothers and Darren Sciberras , tasted success at the sun drenched Broadford State Motorcycle Complex.

After a slow start to the day, mainly due to her lack of track time this year, Lisa made a blistering start in race 2 of the formula 400 race settling into 3 rd outright and 2 nd placed C grader before finally finishing in 4 th position but more importantly 3 rd C Grade. Race 3 saw a similar result which was good enough to secure her a well deserved 3 rd place in Formula 400 C Grade, behind Glenn Kettle and Scott Travers. It's fair to say that Lisa was still a little way of her best but she was consistently improving and made the best of the pace she had on the day.

"That was the first time in a long while that I started to enjoy myself on the bike again. I didn't expect to be in the hunt for a trophy this weekend but it's great that it all worked out like that. I know I have still got a lot of work ahead of me though if I want to be anywhere in next months MRRDA Tri-state event at Phillip Island but at least I am on the right path now. A big thanks to Daz for all the work in getting the bike ready but a bigger thanks to Adam and Christy for helping me put up with Daz last night!"

In the 600 Supersport class Super Daz finally had a change of luck and powered his Megacycle YZF-R6 to victory. The official results will only show Darren as winning C grade however both he and 2 nd placed Chas Hern finished ahead of the rest field including a few A & B graders. Race 1 saw Darren finish a hard fought 2 nd outright and 1 st C grade after a starting position of 20 th . Race 2 saw Daz repeat his outright position of 2 nd but this time was only 2 nd C Grader as Chas Hern pulled away from the field to take the victory. The deciding 3 rd race had come down to a head to head battle between Chas and Daz as they started 1 st and 2 nd on the grid respectively. After another blistering start by Chas he pulled away and had opened up a bit of a gap on Super Daz after a couple of laps. After it all looked to be said and done Daz had fought his way back onto Chas' rear wheel by the final lap and caught a somewhat unaware Hern by surprise with a lunge on the brakes into the 2 nd last turn. It was enough to take the lead and win the round but what was even more impressive was that Daz managed to bring the bike back to the pits in one piece without even a hint of an off road excursion all weekend.

Along with Andrew Brookes and Gerry Farrelly, Daz also helped the Preston club secure the round win in the team shield event.

Darren Sciberras , 600 Supersport, 1 st C Grade (and 1 st Outright)

"Although it's great to get a win I can't believe Lisa got another trophy! I thought I was finally going to make up some ground on her in the trophy count but no, she has to spoil my party, great fiancé she is :(

It was exciting to win on the last lap like that and I am glad we could provide some entertainment for the onlookers. I think Chas was a bit unlucky that he didn't see his pit signal that I was closing the gap and I caught him a bit by surprise. It was just great to get through another weekend with no mishaps and being able to get more time in the seat!"

We had hoped to be able to bring you some footage from an onboard camera on Daz's bike but technical difficulties put a quick end to that..next time!

Daz had a fair gap to close

This poor sod didn't have such a good weekend....rider was OK but the bike looked like Daz had ridden it.

The 600s were busy on the first couple of laps.
