This coming weekend, Oct 16 th - 18 th , will see the world's best motorcycle racers, the likes of Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner, in action at Phillip Island . But in even bigger news, it will also be a return to racing for Darren Sciberras on the Smart Tune CBR600RR in the Australian Supersport category.
OK while 'bigger news' may be stretching it just a tad, it's a remarkable come back considering Daz hasn't ever produced any results worth writing home about, yet we are still stupid enough to give it another crack! But even considering results of the past, it has been a tough time sitting at home away from racing, so we are certainly excited about the coming weekend.
Making the decision to abort our 2009 racing campaign wasn't easy but it did free up some budget which has allowed some recent tests aboard the Smart Tune CBR. While our lap times haven't yet improved, we have had the opportunity to test a number of different setups trying to maximise whatever little bit of talent Daz does have available. What we have learnt from these tests is that we know how to try a lot of stuff that doesn't work! However we found a few things that do work well, so for us, this weekend will be all about trying to put those things together and produce a more competitive package than in the past.
We are also glad to be back for all 3 of our fans
(which includes ourselves) , our lay of has been tough on them as well.
At this stage this will be a once of appearance while we work at our 2010 budget and preparations.
